Most People Long for community. And also, it’s scary.

After the last couple of years, and what we have all been through, spending time in community is invaluable.

But I get it, it can be overwhelming too. 

Worrying about feeling awkward socially or not knowing who else is joining the group can be barriers to joining a group program or wilderness retreat, even if it is led by a licensed therapist. 

But taking big risks leads to big rewards. 

 
 

The benefits of doing a virtual group + an in person wilderness retreat

Over the past 10 years as a therapist, the greatest transformation I have seen is when people move beyond 1:1 support into community

  • Integrated Learning: Group gives you the opportunity to bring what you’re learning into daily life. While nature provides time away to gain perspective. They complement each other beautifully.

  • Deeper Connections: It takes time to build relationships, especially as an adult. Having a few months to connect online and in person on a retreat allows for deeper friendships to form. 

  • Greater Confidence: What we practice grows stronger. Group + retreats gives you time to develop your skills both physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Wilderness retreats, whether backpacking or camping, provide you with time away from your normal day to day environment.

Immersed in nature — away from social media, emails and other peoples demands on your attention — you have the opportunity to truly disconnect and reconnect with what matters most.

What’s Included


Group will be held October through December. There are two options for retreats. The first is a week-long backpacking retreat in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, CA. (Sept. 17th - Sept. 23rd 2023). The second is a weekend nature retreat held at a campground in Joshua Tree, CA. (Jan. 5th - Jan 7th 2024). You can attend one or both!

Group will be held on ZOOM on Mondays from 4pm - 5:30 (PST) *

We will meet every Monday from October 2nd - December 18th

Backpacking Retreat: Mammoth CA from Sept. 17th - Sept. 23rd

Nature Retreat: Joshua Tree CA from January 5th - 7th 2024

* The group time may get adjusted if I get a lot of feedback that Mondays at 4pm doesn’t work for people. If you want to join the group but this time doesn’t work for you, please let me know!

Zoe Gillis (She/her) is a therapist, meditation teacher and wilderness guide. She is equally passionate about exploring external world through backpacking as she is our internal landscape, both as a way to grow and learn.
